The subjects indicated in
the table will cover all the options available under each subject
code and the candidates will have to appear for the practical
examination in the elective subject he opts for Theory Examination.
For example, M4 will cover both the electives - Programming &
Problem Solving Through C Language and Programming through Visual
Basic and the candidates who have opted for appearing in C Language
in the Theory Paper shall be permitted to appear for Practical
Examination in C Language only and not in Visual Basic.
1.2 For
being considered for appearing in the Practical Examination the
candidate must complete the studies for relevant modules / papers
covering the practical examination and should have applies for
appearing in the examination for the same. To qualify for appearing
in PR I of 'A' Level the candidate must have applied for appearing
in the examinations in all the 4 modules covering the first practical
(i.e. A1-R3, A2-R3, A3-R3, A4-R3)
also for appearing in practical examination. Similarly for appearing
in PR-IV of 'B' level the candidate must have applied for appearing
in Examination in papers (B4.3-R3, B4.4-R3
AND B4.5-R3) and also the Practical
Examination.
1.3 Candidates
applying for the examination who have switched over from Old Syllabus
to New Syllabus, i.e. 3rd Revision shall have the exemptions as
under:
O LEVEL:
a) If a
candidate has switched over to new Syllabus (Revision 3), after
clearing two or more Modules in old Syllabus, he./she will be
exempted from appearing in the Practical Examination. In all other
cases, the candidate will have to clear Practical Examination.
For appearing in the Practical Examination, the candidate must
have applied for the examination in all the remaining modules,
and submitted the requisite fee for Practical Examination.
A LEVEL:
Practical I
a) If a
candidate has passed 2 or more than 2 papers out of first 4 papers
of 'A' level in old Syllabus before switching over to new Syllabus
(revision 3) he / she will be exempted from appearing in the Practical
I of 'A' Level.
b) The candidates
who have qualified the Practical at 'O' level will also be exempted
from Practical I at 'A' Level.
c) For appearing
in Practical I the candidate must have applied for all remaining
papers out of all first 4 papers and should also have submitted
requisite fee for Practical I examination.
Practical II
a) A candidate,
who has cleared more that half the number of papers relevant to
Practical II i.e. A5 to A10 in the old Syllabus before switching
over to new Syllabus, will be exempted from appearing in Practical
II of 'A' level.
b) For appearing
in Practical II examination a candidate must have applied for
all the remaining papers covering Practical II (Papers A-5 to
A-10) and also submitted requisite fee for Practical II Examination
It is clarified that exemption from Practical II
of 'A' level shall not automatically exempt the candidate from
Practical I unless he is independently eligible for exemption
from Practical I. To clarify if a candidate has passed 3 papers
out of last 6 papers (A5-A10) but has cleared no paper or less
than 2 papers out of first 4 papers (A1-A4) he will have to clear
Practical I though he would get exemption from Practical II.
B LEVEL:
Practical I & II
a) The
eligibility criteria for first two Practicals i.e. Practical I
& II the criteria and exemptions shall be same as incase of
corresponding Practicals of 'A' Level.
Practical III & IV
a) The
candidate who has cleared 2 or more papers out of the papers relevant
to practical III (i.e. B 3.3. to B 3.5) before switching over
to new syllabus shall be exempted from Practical III. Similarly
the candidates who have cleared 2 or more papers out of the papers
relevant to Practical IV (i.e. B4.3 to B4.5) before switching
over to new syllabus shall be exempted from Practical IV.
b) For appearing
in Practical Examination a candidate must have applied from appearing
in all left out papers relevant to specific Practical i.e. B 3.3.
to B 3.5 for Practical III and B 4.3 to B 4.5 for Practical IV
and should have applied for appearing in the practical examination.
